PAST COMMITTMENTS / FUTURE GROWTH
Commissioner Nichol will uphold commitments and move forward with projects that originated during her term or with previous boards that are in the best interest for the future of Adams County, including:
Enforcing the noise agreement with DIA by monitoring activity and penalizing excessive noise violations.
Establishing a "one stop" government service center in a central location.
Supporting the mixed-use Carma Development Project, planned on the site of the former Hamilton Sundstrand airplane parts manufacturing plant. The property includes 144 acres, which will be cleaned up to residential standards, and a 44-acre parcel in southern unincorporated Adams County that will be cleaned up to recreational standards.
Senate Bill 158, initiated by Adams County and led by Commissioner Nichol, created a mechanism for counties to clean up environmentally blighted industrial sites so they can be re-developed and put back onto the property tax roles.
Maintaining services at Front Range Airport and diversifying operations for growth and expansion.
Ensuring Adams County continues to refuse dumping of radio-active waste anywhere in the county.
