A key competitive requirement for employers is having a qualified employment pool. Commissioner Nichol is directly involved in workforce development. Her 18-year employment history with the Mapleton School District has proven to be a valuable asset in this area.
In November 2007 Commissioner Nichol strongly supported the sponsorship of the fourth annual Adams County Commissioners' Career EXPO.A record 4,700 eighth graders had the chance to meet with and question over 250 employers during the event.
Commissioner Nichol supports the early educational needs of young children and their families through partnerships of public and private agencies. She is co-chairman of the Adams County Early Care and Education Summit for the fourth year.
